Union: Drinks producers fear stop of lines on no equipment

MOSCOW, Apr 28 (PRIME) -- The producers of juices and soft drinks are concerned that disruptions in the supplies of equipment can lead to suspension of lines, head of the Russian Union of Juice, Water and Beverage Producers Maxim Novikov said on Thursday.

"Being one of the most technology-intensive industries, beverage production in Russia is by more than 90% equipped with foreign tools, including European. Disruption in supplies of components can lead to production troubles, even to a stop of lines," Novikov said.

The official said that replacement with local analogues is not possible, which is why the producers need government help and hope that Russia's retaliation to sanctions will not change the current logistic infrastructure.
